The Health Center

       This is the local health center.  We have no full-time doctor, but we are lucky to have excellent nurses.  They can take care of minor medical problems, but for more serious illnesses or injuries (such as a torn Achilles' tendon), a plane takes us to the large hospitals at Yellowknife or Cambridge Bay. The Health Center also serves as a drug store and Social Services Office.
