Our Cultural Heritage

Our grand parents did not live in they types of house we know today.  They lived in igloos, but now-a-days, these are built only during festivals to celebrate our culture.  And the dog team is a part of the past as well.  There are still lots of Husky dogs in Pelly Bay.  Most Inuit now use snowmobiles to travel with, but  a few of our more traditional hunters travel by dog team.  It is no longer easy to shoot photos like those below.
