An ulu is a woman's knife and is used to cut meat and skin hides. They still make very useful tools in the kitchen today!

Rebecca bangs out an ulu from sawblade metal.

Ulu Making

By Brady

Sunday was sleep in day ,we didn't have to meet at the school until 1:00 pm. I was thankful for the extra sleep because for the remainder of the day we all worked hard on building Ulus and sewing stuff like slippers and mittens. I and many others were able to complete both activities. Thanks to everyone who helped us sew and build ulus.

It was a blast!

Cam hammers out his ulu blade.

Rebecca saws a metal rod for her ulu handle.

Brady is pleased with his finished ulu.
