What Can Schools Do? |
What Can Schools Do? -- School LeadersSchool leaders are those who guide others in the school experience. They include principals, vice principals, committee leaders and others who are responsible for shaping the image of the school as a whole. In smaller schools like those found in Inuit communities, school leaders hold an important and diverse role. They are involved in: 1) developing the school as a learning community with a positive school climate,2) increasing student and teacher motivation3) communicating with students4) creating opportunities for teacher learning and professional development, and5) considering the aspects of leadership style.Within these five responsibilities lie some opportunities for school leaders to reduce Inuit dropout.
