Project Board Members

The Tuktu and Nogak Board is made up of hunters and elders from Umingmaktuuq (Bay Chimo), Qingauk (Bathurst Inlet), Iqaluktuuttiaq (Cambridge Bay), and Qurluqtuq (Kugluktuk).The board makes decisions about the project, including how, where, and when the data are collected and stored.

The board members present the project to various communities during meetings and workshops. They conduct interviews with CBC North, Inuit Broadcasting Corporation, NewsNorth and other media in order to inform communities across the North of the project status. Many elders, youths and other community members have attended meetings in Iqaluktuuttiaq, Umingmaktuuq, Qingauk, Qurluqtuq and Yellowknife.

Doris Angohaitok, Martha Angulalik, Naikak Hakongak, Eileen Kakolak, Margo Kadlun, John Komak, Mary Kaosoni and James Panioyak have helped transcribe and translate for the project. Many students have worked with the project: Arnold Angivrana, Shauna Angulalik, Yvonne Angohaitok, Thomas Apsimik, Bobby Ayalik, Tasha Daniels, Karen Kamoayok, Vanna Klengenberg, Neal Mala, and Joseph Jr. Tikhak.
