The Commission’s primary activities
involve the administration and delivery of program funding and services
in the following areas:
In the current fiscal year, the Commission will administer several million dollars on behalf of the Government of Canada and Kitikmeot Corporation for the delivery of programs in these areas. Click on the “Programs” tab for detailed descriptions of programs delivered by the Commission. In addition to program delivery to Inuit clients and communities, the Commission provides support and advisory services to Kitikmeot Corporation, Kitikmeot Inuit Association, the Nunavut CEDO, and Kitikmeot Employment and Training Partners. The Commission also provides research and advocacy services to economic and community development projects at the regional and territorial levels. Click on the “Services” tab for more information on specific services provided by the Commission. In the years since its inception, the Commission
has worked in partnership with many organizations and agencies at the
federal, territorial, municipal, and Aboriginal level on projects to promote
economic development in the Kitikmeot region.
