| General Information |
| |
| Kitikmeot Corporation receives funding each year
from Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. to promote small business development in the
Kitikmeot region of Nunavut by providing grants under the Nunavut Sivummut
program. The Kitikmeot Economic Development (KEDC) is responsible for the
administration of Nunavut Sivummut program on behalf of Kitikmeot Corporation.
|
|
 |
| The purpose of the program is to help
provide jobs and income to Kitikmeot Inuit by providing financial assistance
to establish and expand viable Inuit-owned businesses in the region. To
this end, Nunavut Sivummut provides contributions of up to $3,000 per application.
Terms and conditions of a contribution are included in a Letter of Offer
that is sent out to the client once funding has been approved. Contributions
are generally non-repayable. An accounting of how contribution funding was
spent is required from the client at the end of the project or sooner, according
to the terms of the Letter of Offer. |
