Director
Pauktuutit
is seeking applications from qualified individuals to direct project writing
and reporting activities on a range of health, socio-economic, cultural and abuse projects
affecting Inuit women in
General
Description
Working closely
with project Managers and Coordinators, the Program Director oversees proposal
development, negotiates and secures funding, assists in the hiring and training
of project staff, through implementation, reporting, completion and follow-up
stages.
The Program
Director also builds and maintains files for unfunded priority issues for
ongoing consideration and engages relevant consultants, translators and
contractors. In addition the Program
Director represents Pauktuutit at several policy and/or advisory tables and
advises the President and Executive Director as required.
Qualifications
The
successful candidate will have a relevant University degree and/or several
years of related management experience, be well experienced in program
development and implementation, have superlative writing skills and be highly
recommended as a team leader. In addition, the winning candidate will
be aware of the political and social conditions facing Inuit women and have
knowledge of current health, socio-economic, and cultural issues. Exceptional team-building and project
negotiation skills are critical to this position.
Excellent
English writing and editing skills are essential. Fluency in oral
and written Inuktitut is desirable.
Location:
Reports to: Executive Director
Program Area: Directs management staff in health, socio-economic,
cultural, abuse projects
Salary range: $58,000 - $75,000 per annum plus benefits, depending
on qualifications and experience
